Fasting - Health Perquisite @Diabetes

Since Ancient times, There are six principal calendars in current use. These are the Gregorian, Jewish, Islamic, Indian, Chinese, and Julian Calendars.when we follow Indian Calender every 15days a day known as “ Ekadashi” where Hindus used to follow Fasting it depends on the stamina and stability of the individual to follow. 



Few follow just like Islam do on Ramzan 30days 12hr Fasting but here it is 24hr Fasting “No swallow of Saliva”

Few Follow just Water / Liquids / Fruits / Light savouries / Mixed. 

W H Y ⁉️ 

It is towards the Body Self detoxification and Self Control over the food for a Day followed with respective Menu which supports the detoxify body and avoids acidity or toxins to get deposited. 

Myth : Diabetes should not Stay Fast ⁉️ 

Fact : Yes! In general it is adviced not to go fast as it may lead to Hyperglycemia / Hypoglycemia. 

           No! If Monitored and observed carefully under Medical Supervision it will be a Benefit for Diabetes. 

             While fasting can pose risks for people with diabetes, some studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that, under medical supervision, certain types of fasting may offer potential benefits. Exists few ways fasting might be beneficial for some individuals with diabetes.

In general fasting can pose risks for people with diabetes, 

Fasting is a beneficial I F (Intermitent Fasting) Monitored / 
Followed with given guideline:
  • Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Intermittent fasting has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, which can help the body use insulin more effectively, potentially lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Weight Loss: Fasting can lead to weight loss, which is beneficial for many people with type 2 diabetes. Losing weight can reduce insulin resistance and improve blood sugar control.
  • Reduced Inflammation: Some studies suggest that fasting can reduce inflammation, which is a significant factor in diabetes and its complications.
  • Improved Metabolic Health: Fasting can lead to improvements in various markers of metabolic health, such as blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure, which are crucial for managing diabetes.
  • Potential Cellular Benefits: Fasting may promote autophagy, a process where the body cleans out damaged cells and regenerates new ones, which could have various health benefits, including for diabetes.

However, it’s crucial to approach fasting with caution. Here are some guidelines for diabetics considering fasting:

Medical Supervision: Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any fasting regimen to ensure it is safe and appropriate for your specific health condition.

Personalized Plan: Work with your healthcare provider to create a personalized plan that includes monitoring blood sugar levels, adjusting medications, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.

Type of Fasting: Different types of fasting (e.g., intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating) may have different effects, so it’s important to choose a method that is safe and sustainable.

Monitor Blood Sugar Levels: Regularly check your blood sugar levels to avoid hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

In Brief or Precise, While fasting can offer potential benefits for some people with diabetes, it must be done carefully and under medical supervision to mitigate risks and ensure it is beneficial as stated above with given points.

Below given is from one of MyMom side cousin Sanskrit Patshala Educated for 16years running his own Sanskrit patshala in MyBirth place Adoni, Mrs.Narayana Sanskrit Patshala,Adoni drawn during Chaturmasa with whole grains of respective month which is unique of showing the respective month what to be given to God(leftout) and what to be Consumed.
